Haile Gebrselassie sets marathon record (AP)

Gebrselassie won in the world record time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 26 seconds. Around 40,000 runners from 115 countries took part in the event. Gebrselassie raced through Berlin's flat and fast course to set his 25th world record in 2 hours, 4 minutes, 26 seconds. That lowered the time of his good friend Paul Tergat by 29 seconds.
